you need to figure out a rough itinery first, in order to roughly figure out how much time you want to spend in each place. many visa applications want to know how much time you want to spend in each country. my advice is, if you aren't sure how long you will spend in each place, ALWAYS put the longest you think you will stay in one place, as countries will always let you leave earlier, but if you wanted to stay longer, you would need a visa extension.
to apply for visas, you need to contact their embassy. assuming you live in the UK, and wanted a visa for china for example. just type into google chinese embassy in the UK %26amp; you will get instructions on most of their websites. quite often you have to send your passport off so do things in plenty of time.
another point to note for some countries is that some visas, you can only apply for a certain amount of time in advance. for example, i'm getting a visa for Vietnam %26amp; you only have something like 3 months from the issue date to spend in the country. so i'm going to vietnam in june, so im not going to apply until late may, as then my visa will run from the end of may until august.
