How to apply for a U.S. Passport?

At the post office right? And what's this new thing about a Passport card? Can you get just a passport card? How does it work? Which is better? The passport book or the card? Thanks! How to apply for a U.S. Passport?
Yes you can apply at your local post office. Just make sure you check the hours as most post offices only deal with passport applications on certain days during certain hours. Get a regular passport - it will allow you travel world wide, the card only allows travel over the border - Canada, Mexica, the Caribbean and Bermuda - it can't be used to travel by air.How to apply for a U.S. Passport?

I applied for my passport at the post office, but they were MUCH friendlier at the library when we got our childrens' passports.

Get the book if you plan to go anywhere but Canada and Mexico.
I prefer the book. Its better for traveling and to be honest just looks better. =)

There are some great services on-line. You can get it as fast as 24 hours (for a fee). This is a great site my family and I have used in the past. http://bit.ly/2e8j5S
The post office is fine. The card is really for people living next to the Canadian border to help them pop across regularly by land. It is no good for trips anywhere else.
